Here at Reigate we strive to play attractive rugby based on a good application of basic skills, combined with a high level of fitness that allows for a fast and free flowing game with effective support play being foremost; this emphasis on the kind of rugby we play is as important to us as the result!
While the emphasis is always on enjoyment first and foremost, we believe that being competitive and keeping high standards enhances this enjoyment and we are always looking to attract players who fully embrace training, playing and social aspects of rugby.
Additionally, an essential part of the character of our club has always been to introduce, encourage and develop new players to the game; how many talented rugby players are out there who have never held a ball? Whatever your age and experience, young or old, in your prime or of an age where you are looking for a less competitive and more social game of rugby, you will be made to feel welcome at Reigate RFC and be given the opportunity to play the standard of rugby that you want.
Also, if your playing days are behind you and you just wish to be a spectator, we would be delighted to welcome you to as an active social member. Our bar and dining area makes for an attractive, comfortable and friendly environment to spend a Saturday afternoon!
Already we are gearing up for the new season with pre season training
(Mondays and Wednesdays 19.30-21.00 at Colley Lane, Monday focuses is on touch rugby and general fitness, whilst Wednesdays is formally coached by Chris Venn). In Chris Venn we have a great new coach, making training varied and focussed to increase fitness and ability in a way that makes it much more enjoyable than just running round the block!
During the season we organise several events, including parties at the club, organised buses for selected away games, and pre and end of season rugby tours at various European destinations.
We are privileged to have great playing facilities and a fantastic bar that is the envy of many clubs in the local area, and the social side of Reigate Rugby Club attracts new and existing members (both playing and non-playing).
