The minis section was established very recently in comparison with the senior playing section but has made up for lost time by establishing itself as the friendliest and inclusive junior rugby sections in the region.
The children, coaches and parents thrive on the friendly atmosphere created but a busy social calendar, full integration with the senior membership and the lovely bacon smells that waft from the kitchen on Sunday morning.
We actively encourage all parents to get involved in any way they feel they can from administration, sandwich making, kit selling, pad holding, cone collection to becoming a fully qualified RFU coach.
We are one of the few clubs that take children as young as 4 years old (micros) all the way up to under 9s (year 4). Each year we will expand the age groups as the children get older and hope to have a full compliment of under 12s downwards by the season 2012.
We have a competitive and growing fixture list and will be running our popular tour to the Isle of Wight for the third time in 2009.
We are also the only club in the region that runs Sunday sessions from September to July inclusive. The children, parents and coaches enjoy their Sunday mornings so much they don’t want to stop just because the fixtures stop.
We start at 10.00 every Sunday morning.
