On what was a glorious day weather wise Reigate 2nd XV, managed to get there season off to winning ways with a hard fought victory over Racal Decca.

Racal Decca bought down a very experienced pack who dominated the smaller Reigate pack in scrum and created attacking opportunities from this. However when quick ball was released to the backs of Reigate they all ways looked dangerous and were running through the opposition with ease. Reigate should have gone into the half time with a commanding lead but due to unforced errors and taking the wrong option it was a narrow lead. In the second half Racal Decca started to dominate up front and got a well deserved try and there fly half had very accurate boot that kept the points ticking over. With 15 minutes to go and Reigate down but not out, fly half Paul for Reigate took the game by the scruff of the next and went over twice to give Reigate victory and well converted by Brian with ease.

Special mention to:

  • Paul for playing fly half who I think has made that position his own

  • Mike/Brian whose attacking runs were great

  • Charlie for coming back for his first game in ages and playing front row!

  • And the players who lent themselves to Racal Decca for the game
